If he would've concentrated more, he would've realized it was an Invisibility Cloak, and just as Ron before, he would've gasped in awe that Harry had one. It is unknown if Hermione ever looked into the Mirror of Erised; It is unknown if Voldemort ever looked into the Mirror of Erised; Take your favorite fandoms with you and never miss a beat. And this obsession – though we can hardly blame him for wanting to spend time with the family he never knew – becomes all-consuming. But that's impossible.
