The fatal blow job

The whole story sounds like an episode from a cult TV series: DSK, as he’s called here in France, managing director of International Monetary Fund, yanked off his plane minutes before take off at Kennedy airport because he’s on charges of attempted rape. Actually, no screenplay writer would ever dare to make this stuff up. It just sounds too crazy, after all.

A chambermaid in Midtown Manhattan

What are the facts? According to reports from the New York Police Department, Mr. Strauss-Kahn was arrested at 2:15 am Sunday “on charges of criminal sexual act, attempted rape, and an unlawful imprisonment in connection with a sexual assault on a 32-year chambermaid in the luxury suite of a Midtown Manhattan hotel yesterday”. Apparently, DSK came out of his bedroom naked and rumour goes that the tried to force the chambermaid to do oral sex.

DSK left in a hurry

The New York Times reports that the maid entered the suite 2806 of the Sofitel near Times Square (which costs $3,000 a night and fits perfectly with recent photos showing DSK getting out of a Porsche….), believing it was unoccupied, when “he came out of the bathroom, completely naked, and attempted to sexually assault her,” Deputy Commissioner Paul J. Browne, the department’s chief spokesman said. He than goes on: “He grabs her, according to her account, and pulls her into the bedroom and onto the bed.” He locked the door to the suite. She fights him off, and he then drags her down the hallway to the bathroom, where he sexually assaults her a second time,” Mr. Browne added. When the police arrived, DSK had already left. Leaving behind him personal belongings, his cell phone and forensic evidence that would contain DNA.

Pathological relationship with women

It’s too bad that the Socialist Party lost his strong candidate. Don’t get me wrong. I don’t want to convict DSK before the judges. But things are clear: DSK is out of the race. And Marine Le Pen, head of France’s far-right National Front party, now can say officially say that DSK was known for having a “pathological relationship with women”.

Will his wife Anne Sinclair support him a second time?

Do you remember his affair with Piroska Nagy, a Hungarian economist at the FMI who was subordinate there? This time it’s more than just his reputation tarnished by an extra-conjugal relationship. Back then, he got away scot-free also thanks to the support of his wife Anne Sinclair. Probably not only the career of the brilliant economist and politician DSK ended yesterday in suite 2806 of the Sofitel near Times Square. It could most likely also mean the end of his marriage. He will  pay a very high price for a blow job he never got.
